UPDATE : Red Velvet Swirl Cheesecake Brownies

Saya jumpa resepi ni dkt blog ex-schoolmate saya a.k.a Ribbon and Circus yang canteks ittew. Saya suka apa-apa resepi yg guna basic RV sebab ia mudah nak buat and confirm sedap. So bila dah nampak resepi ni, saya pun mula la tergediks-gediks nak cuba. Finally hari ni ada masa utk berkecimpung di arena kedapuran *matiklah bahasa melayu ku canggih*. Here's the recipe.


INGREDIENTS (Source: here and here)
1/2 cup butter, melted (roughly 8 tbsp)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 cup cocoa powder
pinch salt
1 tbsp red food colouring (I used Queen brand in Pillar Box Red)
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
2 eggs
3/4 cup plain flour

For the cheesecake topping:
125g cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence

METHODS
1. Preheat the oven at 180C. Grease and line a 20x20cm dish.
2. To make the brownie layer, place melted butter in a bowl with sugar, vanilla essence and cocoa powder and salt.
3. Stir thoroughly to combine.
4. Add the food colouring and vinegar and stir again to incorporate.
5. Whisk in the eggs. Gently fold in the flour.
6. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish, reserving 1/4 of a cup of this batter for the swirling effect.
7. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla to make the topping.
8. Smooth this cream cheese mixture over the top of the brownie batter.
9. Randomly drop teaspoons of the reserved brownie batter on top of the cream cheese layer.
10. Using the end of a knife, or a skewer, pull the red through the white layer to create a swirl effect.
11. Place in the oven for approximately 30 minutes. Let the cooked brownie cool in the pan before removing to complete the cooling process on a rack before cutting into squares.




Saya buat ni sebab esok ada makan-makan dengan rakan taulan, macam tak sedap nak datang lenggang mak enon, so kena la bawak something. Resepi ni senang, dah nama brownies kan, kacau guna senduk sudah. Cuma tang cheese layer tu saya malas nak kacau beria-ria bimbang tertimbul muscle pulak *apakah?*, so pakai je la mixer. Sebab saya juga turut tergedik-gedik nak share resepi ni dgn korang, saya bagi la gambor sebelom ia masuk oven. Yang ni saya buat double batter, risau kalau sedap sangat ia tak sempat sampai ke rumah kawan, so buat double batter siap2, hahaha.


Esok bila dah potong, saya kasi update sini, kasik korang terliur, hehehe.
Dah tau puasa enam, jangan masuk sini dulu eh, kang dah sendawa kali ke-5 baru masuk sini, hehe.
